Halal food, with the proof behind it.
HalallO is an app for finding halal places near you. Every halal label shows where it comes from and how recent it is, so you can decide for yourself.
The app is coming soon. Join the waitlist and we’ll tell you when it’s out.
Halal sources
What each label in the app means
- On a certifier’s list
A halal certifier or an official register lists this location. Check the date and the source.
- Confirmed by community members
Members whose accounts are over a week old say they found it halal. That’s their experience, not a certificate.
- The restaurant says it’s halal
This comes from the restaurant or its supplier. No certifier is on file.
- Sources disagree
Some sources say halal and some don’t. Check with the restaurant.
- No halal information yet
Nobody has added a source for this location. Unknown doesn’t mean no.
HalallO shows what each source says. We don’t certify restaurants.
A label is only as good as its source.
Every label names its source
A certifier’s list, the restaurant itself, or people who ate there. Open any label to see who said it and when.
Dates are part of the answer
Certificates expire and owners change. When a source may be out of date, the label says so.
We don’t certify anyone
HalallO shows what each source says, including when sources disagree. If you’re unsure, ask the restaurant.
Halal information is never for sale
It’s free for everyone, and paying never changes a label or where a place ranks.
Starting in two cities.
- New York City
- London
Somewhere else? Join the waitlist anyway and pick “Somewhere else”. Where people sign up helps us decide where to go next.
